About Decorative Chrome Plating
The key features of Decorative Chrome Plating is that it
  1. Has a bright decorative finish
  2. Is trouble-free,easy-to-use
  3. Is stain-free
  4. Never tarnishes
Chrome plating is a finishing treatment utilizing the electrolytic deposition of chromium. The most common form of chrome plating is the thin, decorative bright chrome, which is typically a 10 ┬Ám layer over an underlying polished nickel plate.
Chrome plating is not just limited to automobile parts and motorcycles. Chromium plating can be done on a large variety of metals and parts including but not limited to the following.
  • Automotive Parts
  • Motorcycle Parts including Aluminium
  • Boat Parts
  • Antiques
  • Plumbing Equipment
  • Door Hardware and Locks
  • Light Fixtures
  • Steel Furniture eg. Chairs, tables etc.
  • Gym Equipment
  • Machine parts
Decorative chrome plating is often called nickel-chrome plating because  it always consists of a relatively heavy layer of nickel followed by  a very thin layer of chrome. Whereas Nickel on its own will tarnish over time, the thin layer of the typical bluish colour chrome gives the article a stainfree and abrasion resistant coating.
All articles handed in for chroming, is Copper Plated before other coating is applied.  Due to the size of our tanks, we can plate up to a length of 2.1meter and a depth of 1.5 meter.
Rechroming of bathroom fixtures expertly redone.
About Gold Plating
Plated Gold is as pure as 23.4 carat gold.  It has a rich yellowish colour.
Articles regularly handed in for Goldplating includes the following:
  • Bathroom fixtures
  • Jewellery
  • Accurately machined parts where it is used as a lubricant.
Due to the fact that Gold is terribly soft and that it does not tarnish, care of Goldplated articles is as follows:
  • Wash with a soft cloth and hot water
  • ONLY if necessary, a non-abrasive soap can be used for more stubborn stains
  • Dab dry with absorbent paper [NEVER RUB]
About Tin Plating
Tin Plating is mostly used for machine parts that come into contact with food ingredients.  It has a white silverish colour and is a fairly soft metal
Tin plating is also used on copper electrical connections, because the copper will tarnish and lose its conductivity.  The Tin gives it a non-tarnishing coating that is conductive.  Hence busbars and other electrical connections are Tin plated.
About Copper Plating
Copper plating, same as the actual copper metal, has a red colour.  Steel is often copper plated for its conductivity and in other cases for its non corrosive properties.
Due to copper tarnishing fairly quickly, we normally lacquer articles if it is to be used for decorative purposes.
We  also use Copper plating as a base for automotive parts for its anti corrosive properties.
Antique Copper finish is normally used for decorative purposes.  It is a process where the otherwise shiny copper finish is made to look old and partly tarnished.  The articles are normally lacquered when done.
About Brass Plating
Brass is an alloy of Copper and Zinc and has a yellow appearance.
This alloy is mostly plated for its decorative properties.  It is always lacquered to prevent the rapid tarnishing of the plated metal.
Antique Brass finish is normally used for decorative purposes.  It is a process where the otherwise shiny brass finish is made to look old and partly tarnished.  The articles are normally lacquered when done.
About Bright Nickel Plating
Nickel plating is the coating that is mostly put on articles in order to give other coatings that goes over it a good glossy shine.  Nickel is silver in colour with a brownish tinge.  On its own, Nickel will tarnish over time.  However, it is the beautiful shine of the underlying Nickel that gives Chrome, Bright Brass, Gold, etc. the nice shine that those appearances normally has.
Antique Nickel finish is normally used for decorative purposes.  It is a process where the otherwise shiny nickel finish is made to look old and partly tarnished.  The articles are normally lacquered when done.
Brushed Nickel is a finish whereby articles are  Nickel Plated and then brushed in order to remove the otherwise shiny finish of the newly Nickel plated article.  The article is then left to tarnish ov
